Profile Processing & Cutting Centers for PVC Profiles
Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to common questions about our Profile Processing & Cutting Centers for PVC Profiles
1. What is the main advantage of a Profile Processing & Cutting Center?
A Profile Processing & Cutting Center is a fully automated CNC machine that combines multiple operations into a single, continuous workflow. Instead of moving profiles between separate machines for cutting, milling, drilling, and screwing, these centers perform all processes in one integrated station. This drastically reduces production time, minimizes labor dependency, eliminates manual errors, and optimizes the factory floor space.
2. What specific operations can these centers perform on PVC profiles?
Schtec's CNC centers are highly versatile. They can perform all necessary operations on PVC profiles, including: cutting at any angle (e.g., between 30-150 degrees), milling water slots, drilling for handles and hinges, marking parts, and even automatic reinforcement screwing on advanced models. The CSML 240 and SMC 360 can be equipped with optional screwing units to create a complete, end-to-end processing solution.
3. How do Schtec machining centers achieve such high speed and precision?
Our centers use a high-performance industrial PC-based control system (from our partner Beckhoff) that manages high-torque servo motors on all axes. This allows for positioning accuracy of up to 0.1 mm. The axes move on hardened steel rack-pinion and ball screw systems with central lubrication, ensuring smooth, repeatable, and accurate movement at high speeds for many years.
4. What is the benefit of a multi-profile infeed magazine?
The infeed magazine, or loading station, allows operators to load multiple raw PVC profiles (often 8 to 11 bars) at once. The machine then automatically feeds, processes, and cuts each profile according to the pre-loaded job list. This feature dramatically reduces idle time, minimizes operator dependency, and enables continuous, "lights-out" manufacturing, which is a massive boost to overall productivity. The SMC 320 and SMC 360 feature an elevator system to further reduce loading times.
5. How do these CNC centers integrate with our existing software?
To ensure seamless integration into a modern digital factory, our machining centers are designed to be fully compatible with all major window design programs. Job files can be transferred to the machine via Ethernet (network connection), Wi-Fi, or USB. The system can also be equipped with a barcode reader to instantly load the correct job for a specific profile, eliminating manual entry errors and ensuring maximum data accuracy from the office to the factory floor.
